POSITION
Food Runner
Job Summary:
As the Food Runner, you have the most important job in the restaurant! You keep the FOH and BOH organized while working in tandem.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Directly report to the Restaurant Management and cooperate with other staff members in the restaurant.
- Execute the operational tasks assigned by restaurant management which include, but are not limited to:
- Serve dishes to guests quickly and correctly from the kitchen
- Ensure all food with excellent quality as well as health and safety standards before serving guests
- Prepare materials/ingredients, such as food garnishes and utensils
- Follow health and safety standards and protocol
- Communicate with guests clearly, forward all questions, comments, or requests to servers
- Greet new guests and bid farewell to leaving guests
- Maintain working area clean and tidy, adhere to sanitation and food safety rules
- Ensure all the tasks in the food runner opening and closing checklist are completed on time
- Participate in the monthly cleaning and staff meetings
- Ensure the communication channel between the restaurant and other departments
- Complete special departmental projects and miscellaneous assignments if required and implement other duties that may arise from time to time and may be assigned by restaurant management.
- Pass all the required food tests (if any)
- Follow the restaurant’s policies in the Employee Regulation and the related Agreements, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and Health Protection and Promotion Act (HPPA) in the workplace.

CDN$ 16.5 per hour
Duties
• Design, manage and update weekly schedules to ensure proper staffing for all shifts; • Screen and interview applicants for various restaurant positions; Host and coordinate trainings for new and current employees; • Monitor and update procedures to ensure staff members are compliant with policies and regulations, and all work is carried out in an efficient, hygienic, and safe manner; • Order, receive and monitor food, beverages, condiments, utensils, and supplies to ensure all items are sufficient; • Maintain and file operational records of menu updates, maintenance records, food and freezer temperatures, food and supply usage, and sales report; • Identity, coordinate and follow-up on tasks to ensure restaurant’s quality of service and food, cleanliness, equipment maintenance and safety standards are always met; • Assis kitchen chefs in designing and updating menus.

• Post-secondary education from a college or university • 1 year of related experience in a restaurant set-up
