Manager
Job Summary:

We are looking for a Manager who is responsible for the day-to-day operations and functionality of the restaurant. This candidate must be engaging, highly organized and detail-oriented.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Directly report to the General Manager and receive the direct reports from service staff including Busser Supervisor, Server, Bartender, Host, and Receptionist.
- Supervise the daily work of service staff including Runners, Bussers, Hosts, Bartenders, Receptionists, Servers, and Busser Supervisors.
- Contact candidates, arrange in-store Interview appointments, and handle onboarding tasks for new employees (setting up the punch-in punch-out system, presenting restaurant operation, organizational structure, and corporate culture).
- Properly deal with issues related to employee turnover.
- Effectively deliver the training program for service employees including regular performance evaluation and propose targeted plans for performance improvement.
- Execute the operational tasks in daily management which include, but are not limited to:
- Arrange a reasonable time for services staff to work and break
- Handle take-out orders, reservations, and cashier work
- Supervise and evaluate properly services staffs about the opening and closing tasks of the restaurant
- Administrate attendance system and record work hours
- Evaluate, prepare, purchase and track efficiently the inventories and storages
- Manage the relationships between the suppliers, partners, and other departments
- Implement the workplace sanitation/ safety standards by following health and safety policy in the workplace
- Manage the maintenance of the equipment used by service staff
- Effectively understand and execute restaurant daily or seasonal promotions, conduct staff training and collect guest feedback
- Record and upload the routine management logs and evaluation for Servers, Supervisor, Host and Bartender every day and every 3 months
- Turn off all machines and equipment, lock the door and set up the alarm system
- Ensure daily sales-closing tasks accurately
- Understand and comply with policies in the Employee Regulation; Participate in the personnel management considering Employment Standards Act (ESA), Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC), Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Health Protection and Promotion Act (HPPA) in the workplace.
- Participate in the improvement of work section, working procedure and maintain the tools and equipment of restaurant.
- Work with the General Manager to improve the workplace atmosphere by organizing and participating the team building activities, such as regular restaurant cleaning or internal meeting.
- Maintain good communication with customers and build up relationships.
- Complete special departmental projects and miscellaneous assignments if required and implement other duties that may arise from time to time and may be assigned by the Store Manager.
- Have a responsibility to solve any problems that happen in the restaurant and deal with customers’ complaints and directly report to General Manager.
- Save labour and operating costs while ensuring the operation of the restaurant.

• Design, manage and update weekly schedules to ensure proper staffing for all shifts; • Screen and interview applicants for various restaurant positions; Host and coordinate trainings for new and current employees; • Monitor and update procedures to ensure staff members are compliant with policies and regulations, and all work is carried out in an efficient, hygienic, and safe manner; • Order, receive and monitor food, beverages, condiments, utensils, and supplies to ensure all items are sufficient; • Maintain and file operational records of menu updates, maintenance records, food and freezer temperatures, food and supply usage, and sales report; • Identity, coordinate and follow-up on tasks to ensure restaurant’s quality of service and food, cleanliness, equipment maintenance and safety standards are always met; • Assis kitchen chefs in designing and updating menus.

• Post-secondary education from a college or university • 1 year of related experience in a restaurant set-up
